PHONTE - Dance In The Reign (prod. Swiff D)
Today, PHONTE (Foreign Exchange/formerly of Little Brother) dropped a new video for the track “Dance In The Reign”, off of his “Charity Starts At Home” album.
With lines like “Please beg pardon, but I’m not starving / This rap shit ain’t the life I live” and “I don’t need a kingdom, just want a home / You can take a seat or you can take the throne“…the North Carolina emcee firmly chimes in with his personal views of his career and the current status of Hip Hop. Just by listening to some spoken lines from the intro like “And I do this all for Hip Hop…I’m lying like shit, I do this for my goddamn mortgage…” there’s no question as to why Phonte remains a fan favorite…with his seemingly blunt yet witty statements, timeless smooth cadence, and throw in some humor that only Tigallo could provide…it makes for a solid track as well as his whole album.

About
We called upon our inner circle to develop a line that is raw and uncut with an against the grain approach. Looking to the history of our Hip Hop Culture for inspiration, we felt the need to bring the light back to the essence and educate the youth of its elements.
Besides running a clothing company we believe that it is IC3’s duty to strengthen the links of urban unity. In order to do so, we support hip hop events and workshops that provide an outlet for the youth to utilize their energy in a positive form, whether it be through bboying, djing, graf writing, or emceeing. We feel that by providing these outlets, we build a community for the youth, allowing them to network and grow to become stronger people.
Hit us up!
